The minimum score requirements for entry into the Northwest Big Game Record Books, for all four states we cover (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana) are listed below. There are categories for rifle, archery, archery velvet, black powder, and shed antler.

We also have a seperate YOUTH division for animals taken between the ages of 12-17.


Northwest Big Game Record Books

Our books accepts entries for up to 16 individual species that make up as many as 24 possible entries.

OREGON/ WASHINGTON DEER & ELK HUNTERS: Review the deer and elk boundary maps for reference to the various sub-categories.

* Minimum scores for archery and archery in velvet are the same.
** Wild Turkey records only record the beard length and must be harvested with a legal weapon (currently only shotgun and archery).
*** It is currently LEGAL to harvest "Columbia whitetail deer." in designated hunt areas of Oregon ONLY. Please review the ODFW Game Regulations for hunt locations. Any Columbia whitetail deer taken prior to 1967 is also eligible for entry.

Please Note: Minimum requirements are the same for the Cascade and/or Western categories (in Oregon & Washington). A youth harvesting an animal in any category not listed in the Youth Division above must meet the Regular Division minimum requirements. All youth entries that meet the regular minimum requirements will be entered into both the Youth Division and the Regular Division.
